Foresight Through iChat?
A close colleague of mine (whose image I’ve cropped out in respect of his privacy)was putting together names for an upcoming seeding (using the word “influencer” to describe myself is too vain. plus you all already know. ha!) initiative his agency is executing, and he IMed me to let me know.
One can only wish, right? lol…

How To Make A Hit Show In America? First One’s Free.
Apparently, HBO has posted the first episode of the forthcoming series “How To Make It In America” to YouTube – in its completion. Glad to see HBO embracing the nature of the web to drive tune-in and generate overall interest.
They’re no strangers to relying on guerilla tactics, however- remember what they did to promote the latest season of “Entourage”?
I had an opportunity to screen the first few episodes for a review of the show for AOL (look out for that shortly), and I am very impressed as to how authentic and “home grown” the characters are. Victor Rasuk has been, in my opinion, a great actor, most notably in “Raising Victor Vargas”.
“How To Make It In America” debuts this Sunday on HBO.
I’ll Let You Tell It! (The Case of The Ubiquitous Template)
Just thought I’d share. So, here’s the story. I saw this last year:
Remember Pun.
Christopher Rios, p/k/a Big Punisher a/k/a Big Pun died exactly 10 years ago today. Not only was he one of my favorite rappers, but the impact that he made on the hip-hop community was instant, and reverberated throughout the country.
As someone who was an ultra hip-hop head during the years that Big Pun rose to prominence, his existence (although short) has a special meaning for me. Usually, when I get into the barbershop-esque arguments with colleagues and friends (and you know how heated those can get) over who the greatest MCs of all time were, I’ve always mentioned Big Punisher, and usually the response is “you’re saying that because you’re Puerto Rican!”.
Um, na.
In efforts to avoid a “Hip-Hop is just as much Latino as it is Black” argument, I’ll just say this: Big Pun’s achievements within the scope of two years were like the appearance of Haley’s Comet or a solar eclipse- these events don’t happen often, but when they do, it’s special.
And although he wasn’t a perfect man (no man is), his masterful, wizard-like alignment of words and phrases, matched with his razor-sharp wit, charisma, and sense of humor made him an artist so unique that it’s almost embarrassing that he isn’t as celebrated as some of the greats.
That being said, the next time you listen to “Capital Punishment”, remember that what you’re listening to might never happen again for another millennium, until a child is born that can perform at a level beyond
.

Please believe I have some heat on deck!
Snoop Doggy Dogg x Jaÿ-Z: Heard It Before.
Well, damn! *OJ voice*
Jaÿ-Z jumped on Snoop Dogg’s “I Wanna Rock”………that’s cool with me.
Jaÿ-Z flipped a bunch of rappers’ names in a verse like he’s done once twice before……….not cool with me.
If you’re wondering what I’m talking about, give a quick listen below to “What’s In A Name” (unreleased), and Missy Elliot’s “Back In The Day” (should’ve been unreleased.)
SUITS IS WATCHING. LIKE A HAWK. RAP BETTER, PLEASE.
(“Already Home” is still the toughest verse of the year, so I’ll credit you this one, Jaÿ-Z.)
