So by now, you’ve probably seen this:

Which features these:

Artistic? Um, yeah. A little perturbing? Personally, kinda. Symbology has never really been my thing- a very wise woman once told me not to open doors I can’t close. But that’s just me.

The intention of this post isn’t to analyze the video or make claims to Shawn Corey’s connection to any global consortium of the ruling elite (yo, that looks ridiculous just typing it…), there are already enough posts on that.

This is simply a cry for people to actually know what they’re talking about while screaming “Illuminati!” or “He’s a Mason!”. Know where the influences lie, folks, and know that you don’t know.  Then ask questions to find out about the things of which you don’t understand, and once you’re done doing that, use your God-given reason to make a conclusion.

(Twitter has looked like a bunch of old wives have been using it the past few days…lol)

Plus, where were these claims in 1996? On Reasonable Doubt, when he sampled Prodigy’s voice for the hook of “D’Evils”, the hook says “Illuminati got my mind, soul, and my body”. Straight out. (While we’re on the topic of P (pause), when he put out that ultra-demonic video for Mack 10 Handle, people seemed more entertained than inclined to be conspirators…)

Hmmmmm…..

Look on the bright side: no amount of the dark side of the force could’ve saved this monstrosity (sorry Jay, not your shining moment, fam.):

That’s all.

SUITS!

This whole illuminati thing is just silly. Rappers (in my opinion) just use it as a crutch to make themselves have a better understanding, (or should i say overstanding?) of whats “really” going on around them.

If the illuminati DOES exist, theyd have no need for any artist.

The ‘Forever Young’ video reminded me of the Levi’s ‘Go Forth’ spots that W+K put out in ’09. Actually, ‘On to the next’ video reminded me of a Jordan Brand spot. *shrugs shoulders* coincidence I’m sure.

Lastly, I retort with http://www.kenjisummers.com/2010/01/allegory-and-jay-z/

I love the way you’ve positioned this post to be an informative piece, yet one with a careful yet very personal POV. Thanks for shining a light, great job with that sir. And I agree 100% about “Young Forever” – the song is cool but the vid? Let’s just say it was a very disappointing moment for me as well…
